ICSP Scholarship Description

The International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) scholarship at the University of Oregon, provides a partial tuition waiver for international students in return for 80 hours of cultural service that students have to deliver at the schools, their campus, or societies explaining the culture, life, society of their own country. 

The focus of the program is to create a new learning experience among US citizens as they will discover new ideas, values, interests, and problems during the presentations of students.

This is a partial tuition fee waiver scholarship renewable each year till the completion of your degree as long as you meet the academic requirements set by the university together with 80 hours of cultural service per year. Students are selected based on their academic record, involvement in cultural activities outside class, volunteer work, and leadership qualities as well as financial need.

The scholarship is available for most programs of study offered by the university. To avail scholarship, students must be admitted or seeking to take admission into a full-time program at the University of Oregon.

Eligibility

  1. Student must be an International Student
  2. U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or students eligible to receive U.S. federal financial assistance are not eligible.
  3. Student Must be Admissible or Already admitted to the University of Oregon.
  4. Students must have to Demonstrate financial resources in addition to the scholarship to complete their degree.
  5. Applicant must meet the minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA requirement.
  6. ICSP Students have to provide 80 hours of cultural service per year to renew the scholarship further.

Selection Process

The selection of students for the ICSP scholarship will be based on the following points-

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Experience participating in cultural activities
  • Demonstrated performance and presentation skills
  • Strong academic records ( minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA out of 4 )
  • Strong communication skills

Process of Application

  • First of all, you must apply for admission to the University of Oregon. After you submit your application, within a week the university will send you an invitation to log into the UO scholarships dashboard.   • Now Log in to the UO scholarship dashboard and submit the general application as well as the ICSP application completing all the required information.
  • All applications and Reference Letters must be submitted by February 17, 2023, by 4 p.m. (PST).
